The Golden Ratio conducted extensive remedial works to a c1880 Case Battery Gun Emplacement on the foreshore of Chowder Bay in Sydney Harbour. This project led by the Office of Environment & Heritage, entrusted The Golden Ratio team to restore sensitive buildings, rich with Sydney's wartime and maritime heritage. The works included careful demolition of hazardous areas along with sections of intricate restoration to dilapidated structures. Our team was tasked with the reinstation of replica artillery tracks, masonry wall remediation and specialised render coatings, concreting, custom hardwood timber door and wall restoration, stainless steel gates, balustrades, and drainage grills. We also cleared blockages and mapped the existing plumbing systems and we sandblasted and applied a marine grade coating to the gun room's unique arched steel ceilings. (Work in progress)
